Gaza – Saba:
Director of al-Shifa Hospital Mohammed Abu Salmiya has said that hospitals in northern Gaza are completely out of service, and that no medical facility is operating at full capacity in the various areas of the Strip, despite the continuous increase in the number of wounded and injured arriving daily, even momentarily.
Abu Salmiya added in press statements on Monday that the enemy has destroyed a large percentage of the Strip's hospitals since the beginning of the war, and in the past few days, it has completed what it began by targeting the remaining hospitals, in the absence of any protection for health facilities and medical staff.
Abu Salmiya pointed out that dozens of cancer patients are losing their lives daily due to the inability to receive treatment, whether due to the destruction of hospitals or the shortage of medicines and medical supplies, stressing that the situation has become catastrophic by all standards.
He pointed out that the attacks were not limited to hospitals and health centers, but also extended to drug warehouses, in what he described as a "systematic campaign" to completely dismantle the health system in the Gaza Strip and deprive civilians of their right to treatment and survival.
The Indonesian Hospital was completely out of service after the enemy intensified its siege, preventing the arrival of patients, medical staff, and supplies, amidst heavy fire.
Last Tuesday, a violent bombing targeting the Gaza European Hospital and its surroundings in Khan Yunis led to the death of 34 citizens and the disruption of all specialized services it provided, such as neurosurgery and cardiac catheterization.
Most hospitals in Gaza and the northern Gaza Strip are now out of service, amid the systematic destruction of the health system and the lack of alternatives.
The number of wounded and sick patients is increasing daily, and there is a complete shortage of supplies and medicines. Meanwhile, some remaining centers are operating at partial capacity and under harsh humanitarian conditions.
The enemy continues to directly target medical facilities, storming hospitals, and arresting staff and patients, in flagrant violation of all international laws.
