Gaza – Saba:
The Government Media Office in Gaza announced Monday evening that the number of martyred journalists has risen to 219, with the announcement of the martyrdom of journalists Abdulrahman al-Abadlah and Fatima Hassouna, since the beginning of the genocide in the Gaza Strip.
Journalist Hassouna was martyred along with 10 of her relatives when their family home in al-Tuffah neighborhood, east of Gaza City, was bombed on April 16, 2025. She was martyred one day after her documentary film won the Cannes Film Festival.
The Government Media Office condemned "in the strongest terms the systematic targeting, killing, and assassination of Palestinian journalists by the Israeli enemy."
It called on "the International Federation of Journalists, the Federation of Arab Journalists, and all journalistic bodies in all countries of the world to condemn these systematic crimes against Palestinian journalists and media professionals in the Gaza Strip."
The office held the "Israeli" enemy, the US administration, and the countries complicit in the crime of genocide, such as the United Kingdom, Germany, and France, fully responsible for committing these heinous, brutal crimes.
It called on the international community, international organizations, and organizations involved in journalism and media work in all countries of the world to condemn the crimes of the occupation, deter it, prosecute it in international courts for its ongoing crimes, and bring the occupation's criminals to justice.
The office also called for serious and effective pressure to stop the crime of genocide, protect journalists and media professionals in the Gaza Strip, and halt the killing and assassination of them.
