Belgrade – Saba:
Dusan Pijatović, CEO of Serbiagas, has announced that the Russian and Serbian sides are currently discussing a long-term contract to supply 2.5 billion cubic meters of gas annually for a period of three to ten years.
Sputnik quoted Pijatović as saying, "We will receive 2.5 billion cubic meters of gas annually for at least three years and a maximum of ten years."
He added, "We will ensure market stability so that there is no speculation. 8 million cubic meters of gas will be supplied from Russia, in addition to 4 million cubic meters per day. These additional quantities are the most critical that the contract will specify. There will also be 2 million cubic meters per day from Azerbaijan."
He continued: "There will be two or three million (cubic meters per day) from Hungary, and we will keep them in Hungary. Therefore, as far as the heating season and gas quantities are concerned, we are completely safe."
Pjatović said: "The calculation will be according to the oil equation (related to the price of oil) with the stock exchange price component... and we must agree on how to deal with the risks under this contract."
Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić said on May 9 that, during a meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Moscow, they held talks on a new long-term gas supply agreement for Serbia.
