PSV Eindhoven clinched the Dutch Eredivisie title for the 26th time in their history and the second consecutive season, securing victory in their heated battle with traditional rivals Ajax Amsterdam.

On Sunday, PSV sealed the championship with a deserved 3-1 victory over Sparta Rotterdam in the 34th and final matchday. Meanwhile, Ajax, who had a chance to claim the title, only managed a 2-0 win over Twente Enschede.

PSV finished the season with 79 points, just one point ahead of Ajax, who squandered their lead by earning only 5 points from their last 5 matches. Eindhoven took full advantage, staging a remarkable comeback with 7 straight wins to claim the trophy.
