WHO: Hunger will permanently affect "entire generation" in Gaza
[Tue, 13 May 2025 15:03:06 +0300]

Geneva - (Saba):

The World Health Organization's representative in the occupied Palestinian territories, Rick Peeperkorn, said on Tuesday that malnutrition rates in Gaza are rising, warning that hunger will permanently affect an "entire generation."

Pepperkorn said, according to Reuters, that he saw children in medical centers who looked years younger than their age.

He added in a press conference via video link from Deir al-Balah, "Without access to nutrition, clean water, and healthcare, an entire generation will be permanently affected," warning of deteriorating health conditions, stunting, and impaired cognitive development.
