Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti confirmed in a press conference on Tuesday that he will leave Real Madrid at the end of the current season and take over as the coach of the Brazilian national team starting on May 26th.

This follows an announcement by the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) on Monday confirming Ancelotti's appointment. Ancelotti stated that his focus remains with Real Madrid until his contract ends on May 25th.

He reflected on his time in Madrid as a wonderful adventure that has now reached its end. Ancelotti, 65, will be the first foreign coach to lead Brazil in 60 years. ³ His first match with Brazil will be against Ecuador on June 5th in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers.
