New York - Saba:
The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) condemned on Tuesday the Israeli attacks on Gaza hospitals, considering them unacceptable and must stop.
In a statement, the office revealed that no aid or commercial supplies have entered Gaza for more than 70 days, with the complete blockade on the Strip having a catastrophic impact on the population.
The office stated that "attacks on hospitals continued today in Khan Yunis, where Israeli forces bombed the surgical department of the Nasser Medical Complex. Several injuries were reported. This complex is one of eight public hospitals still partially functioning in Gaza."
Deputy Humanitarian Coordinator Susanna Takalitis said she was shocked by "another attack on this hospital, the fourth since the beginning of this war."
Takalitis emphasized that these attacks are "unacceptable and must stop," noting that "healthcare facilities and workers must always be protected."
She noted that "only five hospitals in the Gaza Strip continue to provide maternity care. Midwives lack supplies and equipment, and our partners report that approximately 17,000 pregnant and breastfeeding mothers are suffering from malnutrition and in need of urgent support."
The enemy resumed its aggression and tightened blockade of the Gaza Strip at dawn on March 18, 2025, after a two-month pause under a ceasefire agreement that went into effect on January 19. However, the enemy violated the terms of the agreement throughout the truce period.
