The Agriculture Sector in Dhamar province in collaboration with the Executive Unit for Managing Agricultural Project and Initiative Funding and the Subcommittee for Summer Activities has launched agricultural activities in the province's summer schools.
These activities focus on providing students with knowledge and skills regarding the importance of agriculture and its role in life. They also include afforestation initiatives such as the planting of fruit and ornamental trees.
At the launch Chairman of the Social Affairs Committee of the Province's Local Council Abdullah al-Faqih emphasized the significance of agricultural activities in raising awareness among summer school participants about agriculture's crucial role in community development and revitalization. He commended the students' active participation in the afforestation efforts.
The province's agriculture sector official Dr. Adel Omar explained that these activities are part of a broader effort to cultivate a culture of agriculture among young people and instill a love for the land and agricultural work in future generations. He highlighted the importance of advancing the agricultural sector for future development food security and economic stability.
Dhamar District Director Mohammed al-Sayqal underscored the importance of expanding the cultivation of economically viable fruit trees and intensifying both official and community support for this trend. He encouraged students to leverage summer activities to learn about their agricultural heritage and traditional practices.
Dhamar District Director Ibrahim al-Mahdi noted that the agricultural activities in summer centers aim to introduce young people to agriculture's vital role in providing food its connection to economic and social well-being maintaining environmental balance and improving air quality.
