New York - (Saba):
The UN Special Rapporteur on Palestine, Francesca Albanese, expressed her sorrow over the suffering of Palestinians in the Gaza Strip due to Israeli starvation policies.
Albanese addressed the Palestinians in a post on the X platform, reported by Quds Press Agency on Saturday, saying: "Oh people of Gaza... oh Palestinians... your hunger today is a disgrace to us."
She wondered: "Why, after 19 months of genocidal violence and 60 days without a single grain of rice entering Gaza? Palestinians are being shown to the world scrambling for food as if they are gasping for breath."
She added, "The people of Gaza are snatching food from a filthy land and are being harmed as they search for a hole in their bodies to gather a handful of emptiness."
The UN rapporteur denounced the international silence and impotence regarding the tragedy of the Palestinians in Gaza.
She continued, "We should not allow your suffering to continue if we are too indifferent, too lazy, too selfish, or too corrupt to stop it immediately."
