Gaza – Saba:
Mahmoud Basal, a spokesman for the Civil Defense in the Gaza Strip, has said regarding the escalation in targeting tents and shelters for displaced people, that the Zionist enemy is using new weapons to kill civilians.
"We have recently observed tents being targeted by suicide drones," he said.
Basal continued, speaking to the Palestinian Safa News Agency on Saturday: "While we were dealing with the recovery of martyrs during the targeting operations, we saw bodies that were dismembered, charred, and greatly swollen, showing signs of severe burns resulting from the use of such weapons."
He said that the humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip is extremely tragic, and what is actually happening is a clear policy of starvation against the citizens.
Basal added, "Today we recorded the death of a child from the Al-Skafi family, due to malnutrition and the lack of milk and food for her."
He stressed that the Gaza Strip is currently experiencing a catastrophic phase, with no basic necessities of life—no medicine, no food, no water, no electricity—because the Zionist enemy has deliberately destroyed everything in Gaza.
On Saturday, the Government Media Office in Gaza announced that the death toll due to Israel's starvation policy had risen to 57 Palestinians since October 7, 2023.
He warned that this number is likely to increase, given the continued complete closure of the crossings, preventing the entry of humanitarian aid, baby formula, nutritional supplements, and dozens of types of medicine.
Since March 2, the Zionist enemy has continued to close the crossings to the entry of food, relief, medical aid, and goods into the Gaza Strip, causing a significant deterioration in the humanitarian situation of Palestinians, according to government, human rights, and international reports.
Since October 7, 2023, the Zionist army has been committing crimes of genocide in Gaza, leaving more than 170,000 dead and wounded, most of them children and women, and more than 11,000 missing.
