Sana’a -Saba:
A meeting between Dr. Mohammed Al-Bukaiti, President of Sana’a University, and Dr. Hamoud Abbad, Mayor of the Capital Secretariat, discussed mechanisms to expand cooperation and partnership between the university , the Secretariat in implementing service and educational projects within the university campus.
The meeting, attended by the University’s Assistant President for Media Affairs, Adel Al-Hababi, Secretary-General Iskander Al-Maqaleh, and other university officials, reviewed the progress of several joint projects, most notably the paving of the main road inside the university campus. Technical studies for the project have been completed, and implementation will begin in the coming days.
During the meeting, the university president emphasized the importance of strengthening the long-standing partnership between the university and the Secretariat, which spans decades.
He noted the Capital Secretariat’s support over the past five years, which included constructing lecture halls, equipping classrooms, providing various services for the faculties of Agriculture and Veterinary Medicine, in addition to significant improvements to the central library.
Dr. Al-Bukaiti affirmed that Sana’a University is a vital part of the Capital Secretariat’s framework, no less important than any other key facility. He highlighted that the university’s growth in classrooms, laboratories, and buildings reflects the success of this partnership and enhances the capital’s academic, educational, and developmental standing.
For his part, the Mayor of the Capital Secretariat stressed that the Secretariat’s support for Sana’a University stems from a national duty toward this prestigious academic institution, which serves as a key supplier of skilled graduates to the local job market. He praised the competence of Sana’a University’s graduates, who contribute across all villages and cities of the Republic.
Additionally, the university president and the mayor reviewed the recent upgrades to the central library, including improvements to its infrastructure and the provision of computers with direct support from the Capital Secretariat.
They received a detailed explanation from the library’s director, Muneer Al-Awlaki, about the services provided to students and researchers throughout the academic year.
