Gaza – Saba:
The Indonesian and Dar al-Salam hospitals in Gaza warned on Saturday of a real disaster due to the shortage of fuel and medicine, as a result of the ongoing aggression on the Gaza Strip and the closure of the crossings.
The Indonesian hospital said in a statement, "The hospital wards are overcrowded with wounded patients, and intensive care beds are full, requiring generators to operate around the clock to ensure the continued operation of the ventilators connected to the wounded."
The hospital director, Marwan Sultan, appealed, according to the Palestinian Safa News Agency, to all international and humanitarian organizations to work diligently and quickly to provide the hospital with the necessary fuel to operate it. "Otherwise, we are facing a real disaster that threatens the death of a large number of wounded and patients in intensive care units."
Meanwhile, the administration of Dar al-Salam Hospital warned in a statement of the serious repercussions of the depletion of its stock of medicines and medical supplies.
She stated that the closure of the crossings in the Gaza Strip for the 62nd consecutive day has exacerbated the suffering of patients, especially those with chronic diseases, the elderly, pregnant women, and children. The depletion of medicine stocks has been accompanied by widespread malnutrition, anemia, and weakened immunity.
The hospital administration appealed to the international community, the World Health Organization, the Red Cross, and relevant organizations to work to bring in shipments of medicines and medical supplies to ensure the continuity of services to patients and preserve their lives.
