The Islamic Resistance Movement "Hamas" welcomed the commencement of hearings at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) regarding the Israeli occupation's obligations toward the besieged Palestinian people in Gaza.
In a statement issued Monday, Hamas emphasized the significance of these proceedings as a crucial step toward holding the Israeli occupation accountable for its continuous crimes in Gaza over the past 18 months.
The movement praised the ICJ for highlighting, through its deliberations, the severity of Israel's obstruction of humanitarian aid and its use of starvation as a weapon of war against civilians—a well-documented crime demanding firm international action.
Hamas stressed the necessity of enforcing the Court's previous rulings and measures, which the occupation has deliberately ignored as it persists in genocide, escalates siege and starvation policies, and systematically targets civilian infrastructure and daily life.
The resistance movement called on the international community to fulfill its responsibilities by taking concrete steps to hold the occupation accountable and halt its crimes, thereby upholding justice and preserving international law.
