Sydney-Saba:

A recent study revealed that walking between 9,000 and 10,000 steps daily can reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease by 21% and the risk of premature death by 39%.

The study, which followed data from more than 72,000 people over 30 years, showed that any increase above the minimum of 2,200 steps daily is associated with health benefits, even in people with little activity.

The researchers emphasized the importance of trying to reduce overall sedentary time, noting that 4,000 to 4,500 steps daily achieves about half of the expected health benefits.
