Zionist enemy forces continue aggression on city, camp of Jenin for 89th day

Jenin – Saba:

Zionist enemy forces continue their aggression on the city of Jenin and its camp in the northern West Bank for the 89th consecutive day, as part of an ongoing military campaign amid ongoing systematic bulldozing and destruction of infrastructure.

The Jenin Camp Media Committee said in a press statement issued on Saturday that the enemy forces have paved 15 roads within the camp, at the expense of dozens of homes that were completely or partially destroyed during these operations.

The statement indicated that the enemy forces have tightened their siege on the Jenin camp and closed more streets leading to it with earth mounds, increasing the suffering of the residents.

It noted that the occupation forces have intensified their raids on the western and southern villages of Jenin, raiding citizens' homes, and erecting numerous checkpoints at the southern entrance leading to the city center, disrupting traffic.

The statement, reported by al-Quds Press, added that the occupation forces dispatched military reinforcements, including a D9 bulldozer, and began bulldozing side streets leading to the town of Burqin, causing extensive damage to the infrastructure.

The statement continued: "Enemy forces also stormed the towns of Silat al-Harithiya, Kafr Dan, and al-Yamun, launching extensive raids targeting residential neighborhoods and internal streets. The number of homes destroyed in Jenin camp reached approximately 600, rendering nearly 3,000 housing units uninhabitable, exacerbating the humanitarian situation in the camp and surrounding areas."

He explained that this destruction led to the displacement of approximately 21,000 Palestinians from the camp, distributed throughout the Jenin Governorate, including 6,000 displaced persons in the city of Jenin itself, 4,181 displaced persons in the town of Burqin, and 3,200 displaced persons residing in the Arab American University housing complex.

The aggression has led to a deterioration in economic conditions, with thousands of displaced people losing their livelihoods. This has led to a sharp rise in poverty rates and exacerbated the humanitarian crisis sweeping the region.

The aggression on the city of Jenin and its camp resulted in the deaths of 40 Palestinians, including two killed by Palestinian Authority security forces.

This escalation comes within the framework of a comprehensive military operation launched by the Israeli enemy army against the city of Jenin, its camp, and the surrounding towns. This operation includes daily raids, the destruction of infrastructure, field arrests, and the heavy deployment of forces on most fronts.

This ongoing aggression is part of the Zionist escalation policy in the West Bank, which targets Palestinians with various forms of repression, from arrests and home demolitions to forced displacement, as part of plans aimed at imposing control over the land and Judaizing it.
