Hamas: Quds to remain Uma central cause

Hamas: Quds to remain Uma central cause

West Bank - Saba:
Mahmoud Mardawi, a leader in the Islamic Resistance Movement (Hamas), on Thursday said the issue of Quds and Palestine will remain the nation's central issue and its unbreakable compass, despite all attempts at liquidation and marginalization.

Mardawi said in press statements, "On International Quds Day, the Palestinian cause is once again being discussed forcefully, not as a fleeting political issue, but as a matter of liberation and human dignity."

He added that the issue of Quds is renewed with every flood and bloody scene witnessed in Gaza, with every uprising that erupts in the West Bank, with every support, and with every protest in the diaspora. The issue has not died, but rather is renewed and intensified despite all attempts at liquidation and marginalization.

Mardawi pointed out that our people in revolting Gaza are experiencing one of the most brutal phases in their history of struggle, through ongoing aggression, repeated massacres, and a stifling humanitarian crisis, "amidst international silence and regional complicity. However, they continue to cling to their land and their rights, and confront the machine of killing and genocide with unbreakable steadfastness and an indomitable will."

"In the context of the extended resistance, the conviction is strengthened that the Palestinian people, from Gaza to the West Bank, from the occupied territories to the diaspora camps, stand in a united trench, waging their battle with various tools, but with a single goal: complete liberation from the occupation, return to their land, and the establishment of an independent state with Quds as its capital."

He said Quds is not merely a political capital, "but rather an ideological and historical symbol and a unifying identity for all the people of the nation." He emphasized that any neglect of it or silence regarding its Judaization is a betrayal of the sacrifices of the martyrs, the history of the peoples, and the still-absent justice."

Leader Mardawi called on the Arab and Islamic nation, with all its peoples, institutions, and elites, to break the silence and move beyond the circle of formal statements to take real action that restores respect for Palestine, Quds, and the central cause of the nation.

Regarding the ceasefire negotiations in Gaza, he explained that the past phase witnessed the presentation of a number of initiatives and proposals seeking to de-escalate and halt the aggression, and the implementation of political and humanitarian relief measures, including the withdrawal from Gaza, the exchange of prisoners, the commencement of reconstruction, and the lifting of the siege.

Mardawi emphasized that the Palestinian forces dealt with these initiatives responsibly and seriously, "but the enemy has reneged on the understandings, broken its promises to the mediators, and returned to the policy of killing and escalation."

He considered that "this reneging not only reveals the arrogance of the occupier but also presents the international community with a new test: either it acts in accordance with law and justice, or it continues its policy of double standards, which threatens stability not only in Palestine but in the entire region."

"The resistance affirms its readiness to continue working and negotiating with full responsibility to achieve our goals. Resistance has never been futile; it has been and remains a legitimate means against injustice and a path to justice and liberation," Mardawi said.

"It is time to restore Palestinian rights and pave the way for a just and comprehensive solution that ends the occupation and guarantees freedom and dignity for the struggling people," he added.
