Ramallah – Saba:
The Palestinian Prisoners' Club confirmed that the young martyr, Walid Ahmed, whose martyrdom was announced by the enemy last night, is one of hundreds of children detained in occupation prisons who face organized crimes against them.
The Prisoners' Club explained in a statement on Monday that hundreds of child prisoners face crimes of torture, starvation, medical crimes, systematic humiliation, and repression. The enemy previously published photos of the systematic abuse of prisoners, accompanied by police dogs, in Megiddo Prison.
The club noted that Megiddo Prison, where Ahmed was martyred, is one of the most prominent prisons that has witnessed torture of prisoners since the beginning of the war of extermination.
It is considered one of the central prisons where prisoners are held, and it contains a special section for child prisoners (juniors).
The club noted that a number of prisoners have previously been martyred in Megiddo Prison since the beginning of the war of extermination, and that Ahmed is the second martyr to rise in 20 days at Megiddo, following the announcement of the martyrdom of prisoner Khaled Abdullah on March 3. Based on numerous testimonies and statements about the conditions of detention there and visits by legal teams, Megiddo Prison—like other prisons—faces the spread of diseases and epidemics, which have doubled in recent months.
Scabies (scabies) was the most prominent disease spreading among prisoners due to the lack of hygiene and clothing, leading to the deaths of prisoners. Many prisoners have been suffering from this disease for months, without any form of treatment.
The Prisoners' Club emphasized that "the brutal system represented by the prison system has left no stone unturned to torture prisoners with the aim of killing them during the bloodiest period in the history of our people," and that the enemy's prisons "continue to constitute another form of genocide."
It stated that the time factor is now the decisive factor in the fate of thousands of prisoners, as the pace of crimes against them continues, particularly against the elderly, the sick, including the wounded, and children.
The Club renewed its demand for the human rights community to open an independent and impartial international investigation into the circumstances of the deaths of dozens of prisoners as a result of torture, starvation, medical crimes, and sexual assaults, and to take effective decisions to hold the enemy's leaders accountable for the war crimes they continue to commit against the Palestinian people.
It also called for sanctions to be imposed on the enemy, which would place it in a state of clear international isolation and put an end to its continued impotence in the face of the enemy's crimes.
This morning, the Civil Affairs Authority, the Prisoners' and Ex-Prisoners' Affairs Authority, and the Palestinian Prisoners' Club reported the martyrdom of minor detainee Walid Khaled Abdullah Ahmed (17 years old) from the town of Silwad, east of Ramallah, in Megiddo Prison.
It is worth noting that Ahmed is the 63rd martyr to have been martyred in enemy prisons since the beginning of the war of extermination.
The number of prisoners in enemy prisons as of the beginning of this March has reached more than 9,500. This figure does not include all the detainees from Gaza in enemy army camps.
