The Russian Ministry of Defense on Thursday said Russian forces had liberated the towns of Sudja, Milovoye, and Podol in Kursk Province.
Sputnik quoted the ministry as saying in a statement that "during offensive operations, units of the Russian Northern Group's forces liberated the city of Sudja and the towns of Milovoye and Podol in Kursk Province."
The statement added that Russian forces targeted formations of two mechanized infantry brigades, two airborne assault brigades, two territorial defense brigades, and an assault regiment of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the areas of Gogolevka, Goncharovka, Guivo, Zaulishenka, Zapsile, Oleshnya, Rubanshchina, and Sudzha.
Airstrikes and artillery strikes targeted concentrations of manpower and military equipment in the areas of Gornal, Oleshnya, Alexandria, Pasovka, Belovody, Varachino, Vodolagi, Zhuravka, Miropolje, Novinkoye, Sadky, Yunakovka, and Yablonovka in Sumy Oblast.
The statement stated that over the past 24 hours, the Ukrainian Armed Forces lost more than 340 soldiers, and that two infantry fighting vehicles, three armored personnel carriers, five armored fighting vehicles, 17 vehicles, four artillery pieces, two mortars, and two drone control points were destroyed. In total, during the fighting in the Kursk direction, Ukrainian forces lost more than 67,150 servicemen, 392 tanks, 316 infantry fighting vehicles, 278 armored personnel carriers, 2,196 armored combat vehicles, 2,428 vehicles, 549 artillery pieces, 52 multiple launch rocket launchers, including 13 HIMARS, 7 US-made MLRS, 26 anti-aircraft missile launchers, one self-propelled anti-aircraft gun, 10 transport-loading vehicles, 120 electronic warfare stations, 16 anti-battery radars, 10 air defense radars, 56 units of engineering and other equipment, including 23 engineering obstacle-clearing vehicles, one UR-77 mine-clearing unit, five bridge-ferries, one engineering reconnaissance vehicle, as well as 15 armored recovery vehicles, one Command and staff.
