Dr. Bassem Naim, a member of the political bureau of the Hamas movement, said that the movement's presence "today in the administration of Gaza is a choice of necessity, to avoid chaos and internal fighting. He stressed: We will not accept any administration imposed on Gaza outside of the national consensus."
He also stressed that the movement is not clinging to power in the Gaza Strip, and that it is prepared to give up power within the framework of a Palestinian national consensus.
