Madrid - (Saba):
Real Madrid has announced that Moroccan star Brahim Diaz has been injured and will miss the match against Real Mallorca, scheduled for Wednesday evening, in the 36th round of the Spanish League.
Real Madrid said in a statement published on its website on Wednesday: "Following tests carried out today on our player Brahim Diaz by the medical services, he has been diagnosed with an injury to the long adductor muscle of his left thigh."
Real Madrid did not reveal the length of Diaz's absence, but he will at least be unavailable for the Mallorca match tonight, having been included in the squad announced by Italian coach Carlo Ancelotti yesterday.
Diaz joins a long list of injured players at Real Madrid, which includes players such as Eduardo Camavinga, Dani Carvajal, Alaba, Eder Militao, Antonio Rüdiger, Ferland Mendy, Vinicius Junior, Lucas Vázquez, and Rodrygo Goes.
Real Madrid sits second in the league standings with 75 points, seven points behind leaders Barcelona, with just three rounds remaining. Should Real Madrid draw or lose to Mallorca, Barcelona will be officially crowned La Liga champions, even without playing the 36th round match against Espanyol tomorrow, Thursday, in the Catalan derby.
