Beirut - Saba:
The Lebanese National News Agency quoted Speaker of the Lebanese Parliament Nabih Berri as saying on Friday in a chat with the media: "The Americans informed me that the Israeli occupation will withdraw on February 18 from the villages it still occupies, but it will remain in 5 points, and I informed them in my name and in the name of President of the Republic General Joseph Aoun and Prime Minister Judge Nawaf Salam of our absolute rejection of that."
He added: "I refused to talk about any deadline to extend the withdrawal period, and it is the responsibility of the Americans to impose the withdrawal, and not to have caused the biggest setback to the government."
He continued: "If the occupation remains, the days will tell us, and this is the responsibility of the Lebanese state, as the army is doing its full duty in the south of Litani. As for the north of the Litani, this matter is up to the Lebanese and a dialogue table to discuss a defense strategy."
Berri stressed that "Hezbollah is fully committed," and said: "If the occupation continues, this means that the Israelis will exercise freedom of movement and aggression in Lebanon, and this is unacceptable."
He stressed that "the funeral of Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah will be held quietly, and there will be no shooting," noting that "the army and security forces will maintain security."
