New York - Saba:
European and UN officials have rejected the mechanism for distributing and entering aid into the Gaza Strip proposed by Israel.
According to the Sanad News Agency, the French representative to the United Nations said this evening that they oppose the mechanism for distributing and managing humanitarian aid proposed by Israel.
He called on Israel to immediately lift obstacles to humanitarian supplies and the activities of relief workers in Gaza, considering that Israel's mechanism for entering aid into Gaza contravenes international law and does not meet needs.
The French representative to the United Nations stressed that Israel's violations of international law will not contribute to its security and will endanger the stability of the region.
He expressed his condemnation of the planned extension of Israeli operations in the Gaza Strip.
For her part, the British representative to the United Nations affirmed her country's refusal to support any aid mechanism in Gaza that seeks to achieve political or military objectives.
She noted that tons of food are rotting on the Gaza border instead of being delivered to the starving.
She called on Israel to cooperate with the United Nations to resume aid deliveries to Gaza.
The British representative to the United Nations also affirmed that her country will not support any aid mechanism in Gaza that seeks to achieve political or military objectives.
For his part, the UN Under-Secretary-General for Humanitarian Affairs affirmed that the method of distributing aid in Gaza established by Israel is not the solution.
He explained that Israel is imposing inhumane conditions on civilians in the occupied Palestinian territories.
He considered the continued blockade of Gaza to be bad, and Israeli ministers are proud of it.
Since March 2, Israeli enemy forces have continued to impose a tight blockade on the Gaza Strip, preventing the entry of humanitarian aid, medicine, and food. This coincides with the resumption of military aggression and the crime of genocide for the 54th consecutive day, following the violation of the ceasefire agreement on March 18.
The people of the Gaza Strip are suffering from a stifling crisis and a shortage of food and water. Bakeries in the Gaza Strip have announced their closure for 41 days, while famine threatens the lives of more than two million Palestinians.
