Dr. Mohammed Al-Mawlid, Minister of Youth and Sports and Deputy Head of the Supreme Committee for Summer Activities and Programs, along with Amin Jumaan, Secretary-General of the Capital Secretariat and Head of Al-Wehda Sana'a Club, honored on Wednesday the winners of the sports race for participants in summer schools in the Capital Secretariat.
The race, organized by the Secretariat’s Youth and Sports Office in coordination with the Technical Committee for Summer Activities , Programs and the executive committees in the Secretariat’s districts, saw the participation of 200 competitors from the junior, cub, and youth categories. It started near the tomb of the martyr President Saleh Al-Sammad at Al-Sabeen Square and concluded at Al-Wehda Sana'a Club stadium.
During the ceremony, the Minister of Youth and Sports emphasized the importance of such sports competitions for summer school students in encouraging youth to engage in sports, which helps enhance their physical and technical abilities.
He noted the efforts of the Supreme Committee, the Technical Committee, and the subcommittees in providing a suitable environment for students to benefit from all summer programs and activities, including sports, agriculture, religious and scientific knowledge, as well as capacity-building and skills development programs in various scientific, cultural, and creative fields.
The minister also highlighted the attention and support these programs receive from the revolutionary leadership, the Supreme Political Council, the government of change and development, and all official and popular entities. These efforts reflect the effectiveness of the programs in building an active and aware generation that understands the conspiratorial schemes of enemies targeting the nation’s faith-based identity and value system.
The closing ceremony was attended by the Secretariat’s deputies Mohammed Al-Banous and Abdulkarim Al-Houthi, Assistant Deputies Abdullah Mahram and Abdullah Ismail, Secretariat Advisor Ahmed Mahdi, Director of the Secretariat’s Youth Office Abdullah Obaid, his deputy Zaid Jahaf, as well as youth, sports, and educational leaders. The top ten winners were honored with financial and in-kind prizes provided by Jumaan Trading and Investment Company.
