Amnesty International calls on Washington to arrest Netanyahu

Amnesty International calls on Washington to arrest Netanyahu
[Tue, 04 Feb 2025 23:50:45 +0300]

London - Saba:
Amnesty International called on Tuesday on the United States to arrest Zionist Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is meeting this evening at the White House with US President Donald Trump.

The organization said in a series of posts on the "X" platform: "By receiving Zionist Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, who is wanted by the International Criminal Court on charges of war crimes and crimes against humanity, the United States is showing contempt for international justice."

"The United States has a clear obligation under the Geneva Conventions to seek out and attempt to extradite persons accused of committing or ordering the commission of war crimes," the organization said.

"Individuals alleged to have committed war crimes or crimes against humanity should not be given safe haven," it stressed.

These developments come in light of an expected meeting this evening at the White House between Netanyahu and Trump, during which they are expected to discuss several issues, most notably the second phase of Gaza ceasefire agreement and the day after the war in Gaza Strip.

This is Netanyahu's first foreign visit after the International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant for him and former war minister Yoav Gallant on November 21, 2024, for "committing war crimes and crimes against humanity against Palestinians in Gaza Strip."
