Qahim: Adding two flights per week from Sana'a to Amman in addition to daily flight
[Tue, 03 Sep 2024 21:17:47 +0300]

SANA'A September 3. 2024 (Saba) - Minister of Transport and Public Works Mohammed Qahim confirmed the addition of two weekly flights starting tomorrow, Wednesday, including the continuous daily flight from Sana'a to Amman and back.

During his visit today to Sana'a International Airport, along with Deputy Minister of Transport and Works Yahya Al-Sayani, and Acting Yemen Airways Khalil Jahaf, Minister Qahim explained that the addition of two flights per week in addition to the daily flight of Yemen Airways through Sana'a Airport to Queen Alia Airport in Jordan came after providing fuel for the planes in cooperation with the Ministry of Oil and Minerals. He pointed out that the Israeli aggression on jet fuel tanks in Hodeidah had caused the number of flights from Sanaa to Amman to be reduced to one flight per day.

He pointed out that the official efforts have borne fruit in overcoming the repercussions of the US-British aggression and the Israeli aggression on Yemen to try to dissuade it from its position in support of Gaza and the Palestinian people.

The Minister of Transport and Works stated that there are understandings by the agreement between Sanaa and Riyadh to open the new agreed destinations.

For his part, the Deputy Minister of Transport and Works confirmed that in cooperation with the Ministry of Oil and Minerals, jet fuel was provided and two flights per week were added on Wednesday and Monday, in addition to the daily flight to the destination of Sana'a - Amman and back.

He explained that the number of flights that will depart from Sanaa International Airport to Queen Alia Airport and back will be nine flights per week via Yemen Airways.

Al-Sayani pointed out that the Israeli enemy's bombardment of the port of Hodeidah and fuel tanks led to a reduction in the number of flights from two flights a day to one flight as a result of the depletion of the amount of fuel for the planes.

In turn, the acting chairman of Yemen Airways pointed out that the barbaric Israeli bombardment of the port of Hodeidah and fuel tanks led to the damage of nearly three thousand passengers.

He stressed that the addition of two flights a week in addition to the daily flight between Sanaa and Amman will contribute to overcoming the crisis and providing the opportunity for more passengers through Yemen Airways.

He said the main reason for the delay in passengers' luggage was the lack of fuel for the planes, which forced the company to reduce the loads.

Qahim, Al-Sayani, and Jahaf were briefed on the progress of work at Sana'a International Airport and the services it provides to passengers and flights to Jordan and flights of the United Nations and humanitarian organizations operating in Yemen.

They listened to the Director of Sana'a Airport, Khaled Al-Shayef, explain the procedures, services and facilities provided to passengers through the airport in accordance with the requirements and conditions in force at international airports.

They were accompanied by the Undersecretary of the Aviation Authority Aref Al-Ashram, the Assistant Undersecretary of the Authority for the Airports Sector Yahya Al-Kahlani, and the Director of Security of Sana'a Airport, Brigadier General Jarallah Jarallah.
