MOSCOW August 16. 2024 (Saba) - Russia's Foreign Ministry said Friday that Moscow does not seek to engage in a geopolitical war with the West, but only hopes that others will respect its interests.
Director of the Department of Economic Cooperation at the Russian Foreign Ministry Dmitry Beryshevsky said in remarks reported by the Russian news agency "TASS", "We do not deal with Western businessmen with discrimination, but rather maintain dialogue with them and help them engage inside the country, as every investor is important to us."
"We are not in the mood to engage in a geopolitical war with the West, where we only want others to respect and take into account our security interests, and if that happens, we are ready for dialogue and negotiation as equal partners."
He also stressed that the West will eventually conclude that we must all cooperate and not impose any decisions or values on each other.
On February 24, 2022, the Russian president announced a military operation against targets in Ukraine intending to protect the residents of the Donbas region, which prompted many Western countries and the United States of America to impose huge economic sanctions against Russia.
