BAGHDAD August 16. 2024 (Saba) - A force from the Popular Mobilization Forces and the Iraqi army on Friday carried out a major operation to search the villages and southern complexes of Sinjar district, west of Nineveh Governorate.

"The second regiment within the Sinjar Brigade of the Popular Mobilization Forces, in cooperation with the 20th Division of the Iraqi Army, carried out a major operation to search the villages and southern complexes and dry up the sources of terrorism, if any," the Popular Mobilization Authority said in a statement.

The statement indicated that "the operation came to enhance security and stability in the region."
