The Islamic Republic of Iran’s mission to the United Nations stated on Monday that America has once again recklessly sacrificed its national security to protect Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, a wanted war criminal under the International Criminal Court.
In a statement, the Iranian mission said that diplomacy has been undermined by the Israeli regime and the U.S., noting that Netanyahu, an internationally pursued war criminal, has "hijacked U.S. foreign policy" and dragged America into a costly conflict, according to Iran’s Mehr News Agency.
The statement added, "America has once again recklessly sacrificed its national security to protect the Zionist regime’s Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu. Anything presented under the label of a 'diplomatic proposal' is nothing but deception and fraud."
It further asserted, "Undoubtedly, the United States, Britain, France, the Zionist regime, and the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency bear full responsibility for the killing of innocent civilians in Iran, especially women and children, as well as the destruction of vital, non-military infrastructure in the country."
