UN: Number of martyrs of West Bank children tripled

NEW YORK August 14. 2024 (Saba) -The United Nations confirmed that the number of Palestinian children who were martyred by live ammunition fired by the Zionist enemy forces has almost tripled since the seventh of last October, compared to the previous ten months (115 compared to 39).

The UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs said in its report on Wednesday that "the number of Palestinian children who have been injured by live ammunition fired by Zionist forces since the seventh of October, compared to the previous ten months (1,411 compared to 615)."

"Between 7 October 2023 and 12 August 2024, 594 Palestinians were killed in the occupied West Bank, including East Jerusalem, in addition to two who died of their wounds sustained before 7 October," the report said.

"Of these, 577 people were killed by the occupation forces, ten by settlers, and seven are still unknown whether the perpetrators were from the occupation forces or settlers. He added that there are more than 100 cases in which Zionist forces have detained the bodies of Palestinians.

The occupied West Bank is witnessing continuous incursions by the Zionist enemy forces, interspersed with field confrontations, which resulted in the arrest of thousands of Palestinians and the rise of hundreds of martyrs, in conjunction with a devastating war on the Gaza Strip, which left tens of thousands of civilian victims, most of them children and women.

Since the seventh of last October, the Zionist enemy army has continued its aggression on the Gaza Strip, with American and European support, as its planes bomb the vicinity of hospitals, buildings, towers, and homes of Palestinian civilians and destroy them over the heads of their residents, and prevent the entry of water, food, medicine, and fuel.

The ongoing Zionist-American aggression on Gaza has led to the death of 39,965 martyrs, the injury of 92,294 others, and the displacement of 90% of the population of the Strip, according to United Nations data.
