Professor Alain Pellet, Adviser to the State of Palestine before the International Court of Justice (ICJ), stated: "The inhuman and brutal conduct perpetrated by Israel against the population of the occupied Palestinian territory leaves no room for doubt: it consists of a series of internationally illegal acts for which Israel bears strict responsibility and also entails consequences for other states and international organizations."
The International Court of Justice opened a week of hearings to review Israel's humanitarian obligations towards the Palestinians, more than fifty days after it imposed a comprehensive blockade on the entry of aid to the war-torn Gaza Strip.
