OCCUPIED QUDS August 08. 2024 (Saba) - Enemy media revealed on Thursday that members of the Zionist Knesset and the head of the Shomron Regional Council, Yossi Dagan, have formed a working group they described as parliamentary and civilian, aimed at abolishing the separation law.
The new bill joins the law passed by the Knesset in March to repeal the separation plan in the northern Shomron – northern West Bank, and Defense Minister Yoav Galant's orders on May May to enforce the provisions of the Separation-Decoupling Law.
Israel's Channel 12 website reported that Shomron Speaker and Knesset members Amit Halevy and Ariel Kleiner of Likud, and MK Tzavi Sokkot of religious Zionism are referring to the second phase and plan to submit the bill for approval by the Ministerial Committee for Legislation during the upcoming Knesset winter session.
Shomron Council Chairman Yossi Dagan said, "The only way to protect the settlements surrounding Gaza and teach the enemy a harsh lesson is to settle in the Gaza Strip.
"The secession led to the 'massacre' of the seventh of October October, and the fact that the separation law remains in the Israeli book of laws is a disgrace to Israel," he said. As we returned to Homesh, we must return to Gush Katif and the northern Gaza Strip first. We need to seize territory, and this is the real response, our victory will be clear, and it will also be a real deterrent against our enemies."
MK Zvi Sokkot, head of the lobby for the renewal of settlements in the Gaza Strip, said, "Victory means settlements. After the destruction of Hamas, we must teach future generations that whoever "slaughters" us will also lose land. It is time to claim "our land," as he put it.
MK Amit Halevy said, "The first law that should have been amended after October October 7 was the separation law, to make it clear to the world that the Gaza Strip is an integral part of our 'homeland,' and there will be no area free of Jews. These provisions of this law constitute a moral stain on the record of Israeli law and we will remove them together as soon as possible."
MK Ariel Kleiner said that "there is no escape from 'terrorism' or from the purpose of the Jewish people and their attachment to the 'land' of Israel." Just as we succeeded in amending the law that forbade Jews from being in northern Shomron, we will also do so in Gush Katif.
