SANA'A August 01. 2024 (Saba) - Next Sunday, the activities of the National Festival of Yemeni Honey and Bee Products "The Third Season" will be launched in Al Sabeen Park in Sana'a under the slogan "Yemen the home of honey".

The festival, organized by the Honey Unit of the Higher Agricultural and Fisheries Committee and the Ministry of Agriculture and Irrigation with community contribution, aims to promote Yemeni honey, revive its status, market Yemeni brands of this cash crop globally, as well as enhance its role in economic growth and reach self-sufficiency with its products.

Deputy Minister of Agriculture - Deputy Chairman of the Higher Agricultural and Fisheries Committee, Dr. Radwan Al-Rubai, confirmed to Saba that the festival is an annual event that seeks to promote Yemeni honey of various types and high quality, compared to external varieties, in addition to preserving the historical heritage of honey production and marketing in an optimal manner, and keeping pace with modern technologies in its production and marketing.

He pointed to the importance of the festival as it comes within the framework of the directives of the Leader of the Revolution to pay attention to agricultural extension in beekeeping and honey production, fight fraud, and take care of promotion, canning and marketing.

Dr. Al-Rubai pointed out that Yemeni honey is an important economic product, and the secret of its distinction is due to the distinction of the bee breed in Yemen, and its uniqueness from other types of bees in the world, in addition to that it is produced in natural areas free of chemicals, and the majority of beekeepers do not extract royal jelly from honey, which makes it retain all its properties and natural components.

The director of the Yemeni Honey Services Office, Saddam al-Ashmouri, explained that the festival will enjoy wide participation by associations, producers and marketers of honey from a number of governorates.

He pointed out that the activities of the festival, which lasts six days, include scientific sessions and seminars on honey productivity managed by experts and researchers in this field, in addition to organizing an awareness theater on the goals that the festival seeks to achieve.
