HAJJAH August 01. 2024 (Saba) – Al-Shaghadrah Local Council in Hajjah province has officially received a series of water projects from the Supreme Council for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs’ local branch.
Funded by humanitarian partners at a total cost of $341,100, the projects include the installation of a solar-powered pumping unit, rehabilitation of the existing water network, construction of an artificial well from reinforced concrete, and the refurbishment of distribution tanks. The main and sub-main water networks in Maghribat Dahm and its localities, as well as al-Omq, have been completed, with connections extended to 246 homes, each equipped with meters.
These initiatives are set to benefit 23,439 residents in the central areas of the district, al-Omq, Maghribat Dahm, and surrounding localities.
During the handover ceremony, Alan Fadhayel, Director of the Supreme Council for Humanitarian Affairs branch in Hajjah highlighted the crucial nature of these water projects, emphasizing their role in addressing the needs of citizens amidst current challenges.
Fadhayel underscored the commitment of the province's leadership and the Supreme Council to implement water projects in underserved areas, acknowledging the efforts of humanitarian partners in this endeavor.
Mahyoub Sera'a, Director of the district, expressed gratitude for the comprehensive support provided through these development projects and voiced hopes for additional initiatives to address the district 's needs.
