GAZA May 20. 2024 (Saba) -The Israeli army is still blocking the two vital crossings of Rafah and Karm Abu Salem in Gaza for 14 days in a row, stopping assistance inflow to the sieged Strip.
Over 3,000 assistance trucks were denied access to Gaza in the 14 days of closure and nearly 700 patients and wounded were prevented from travelling abroad for treatment, according to media.
In the meantime, the occupier escalated military attacks on Jabalia, Beit Lahia and other parts of Gaza, as airstrikes and bombings left thousands of civilians killed, injured or displaced.
Rafah was targeted by war planes that claimed lives of scores of civilians and injured others, and ground offensive forced some 800,000 people to relocate to Deir al-Balah, according to UNRWA.
The WFP on Sunday underlined the need for safe, sustainable access to assistance to prevent famine in north Gaza, but the Israeli "evacuation orders hinder" this access.
