TEHRAN May 20. 2024 (Saba) -Under the Iranian law and after Revolution Leader's consent, first vice-president is tasked with presidential office, spokesman for the constitution guardian council, Hadi Tahhan, said on Monday.

In case of his/her death, the president's authority is trusted to his/her first deputy for a period of no more than 50 days, as stated in the 131st Article of the Iranian constitution.

On 8 August, late President Ibrahim Raisi selected Mohamed Mukhbir as his first deputy.

Born in September 1955 in Khuzestan, Mukhbir has doctorate in international law, served as an officer for the IRGC's medical body, and occupied many official posts in Khuzestan.
