MEMPHIS April 21. 2024 (Saba) - Two Americans were killed and at least 14 others were injured in a shooting taken place at a party in a city neighborhood of Memphis, Tennessee, in the southeastern United States.
American media quoted the police in a press conference as saying that the shooting occurred at a party in which up to 300 people gathered, and that a total of 16 victims were shot, noting that no suspects had been arrested.
Memphis Police Chief CJ Davis said Police believe that at least two people opened fire at the event. It is unclear what led to the violence.
He added "We are working tirelessly tonight to identify the individuals involved in the shooting. The investigation into the shooting is still ongoing. We have received video footage from the scene and are searching for those involved."
The local police department in Memphis reported that three of the injured were taken to hospitals in critical condition, while 11 others arrived at hospitals in private cars, and no information was available about their health condition.
