SANA'A, June 23 (Saba) - The Governor of the Central Bank of Yemen (CBY) in Sana'a revealed that the illegal printing of currency by the aggression countries and mercenaries amounted to 5.32 trillion riyals until June 2021, which is equivalent to three times what the Central Bank printed in Sana'a from 1964 to 2014.

"The volume of contracts announced until the end of 2021 amounted to one trillion and 720 billion riyals, and all these amounts reached the so-called Bank of Aden in separate installments during the years 2017, 2018, and 2019," CBY's Governor Hashim Ismail said in a press conference held in Sana'a.

He pointed out that the Bank of Aden signed a secret contract, which has not been disclosed yet, in the amount of two trillion riyals of (5000-rial bill) in 2017, and the traitors are still planning how to issue this amount and pump it to the market, in addition to signing a new contract amounting to 600 billion riyals in the year 2019, all of these amounts reached the Bank of Aden in separate installments during the years 2019, 2020 and 2021.

He explained that the Central Bank in Aden signed recently a new contract in the amount of one trillion riyals in the year 2020, including an amount of 400 billion riyals of the counterfeit currency that reached the ports of Aden and Mukalla, which the Central Bank in Sana'a issued a decision on Tuesday to prevent its circulation and prohibit dealing with it.

"We are in a new stage of the economic aggression that started from the first day of the aggression."

Ismail said that the four countries called the USA, Britain, Saudi Arabia and the UAE supervised and planned the economic aggression against Yemen, and their decision from the first day was to use economic war whenever they failed militarily and on the ground.

The Governor of the CBY in Sana'a affirmed that the aggression and its mercenaries took control of one of the most important monetary policy, which is the currency printing tool, which is the most dangerous conspiracy, whose harm reaches every Yemeni citizen, according to a deliberate scheme to destroy the national currency.

Ismail called on everyone to stand by the Central Bank in Sana'a to preserve the national currency with popular and societal awareness.

He reiterated the readiness of the Central Bank in Sana'a for any serious steps to protect the national economy at the level of the Republic of Yemen.
