HAJJAH, July 26 (Saba) - Heavy rains in Bani Qais district in Hajjah province killed three Internally displaced persons (IDPs) and dragged huts and tents of 50 displaced in the district.
A local source told Saba that floods caused the death of a displaced family consisting of a father, a mother, a child, and the loss of another child in al-Lawha area in the same district.
The source pointed out that the floods caused material damage to civilian's property as well, pointing out that the 50 displaced families became homeless now.
Director of the Branch of the Supreme Council for the Management and Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs and International Cooperation in the province Ellan Fadhael has appealed to organizations to respond urgently so as to provide the displaced with shelter, relief, and food.
The director of the Branch pointed out that the continued heavy rains and floods during this period threaten many families living in the valleys and coastal areas where the majority of them live in tents and huts.
