SANAA, March 17 (Saba) –The Supreme Economic Committee on Tuesday called on all government agencies and organizations working in the field of providing cash aid, merchants, and citizens to limit the use of banknotes, and use electronic money instead to reduce the risks of Corona epidemic.

The Economic Committee praised, in a statement, the decisions and precautionary measures taken by the Higher Committee for Epidemics Control, with the aim of confronting the Corona virus, which was classified as a global epidemic by the World Health Organization (WHO).

The Committee confirmed that Yemen has made great strides in the field of electronic cash, and has possessed advanced cash circulation methods and an effective electronic control system with 100 per cent cash coverage under the supervision and oversight of the Central Bank of Yemen.
