MINSK May 07. 2024 (Saba) - Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko said Tuesday that the world has never come as close to the threshold of nuclear war as it is now.
The Belarusian state news agency Belta reported that "the head of state has assured that the world has never come as close to the threshold of nuclear war as it is now."
Lukashenko stressed that the statements of Western politicians lead to an escalation of tension not only on the European continent, but in the whole world.
He stressed that tactical nuclear weapons are weapons of deterrence and defense, and no one will use them in the attack.
He pointed out that the expansion of military blocs and alliances at the expense of the security of other countries, as well as the unprecedented mobilization of NATO capabilities in our region, exacerbates the situation.
"We will not give in to provocations and we will not fight anyone, and our task is that if the enemy sets foot on our territory again, we must inflict great damage on his forces," he said.
