NEW YORK May 07. 2024 (Saba) - Twelve Republican senators sent a strongly worded threatening letter to the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court, Karim Khan, on Tuesday. They warned of dire repercussions if the court decides to issue any arrest warrants against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu or any senior officials of the Zionist entity.
According to Palinfo, the letter, which was leaked and published by neutral media on Tuesday, addressed Karim Khan: "We are writing to you regarding reports that the ICC may consider issuing international arrest warrants against Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and other Zionist officials. These actions are illegitimate, lack legal basis and, if implemented, will result in severe penalties against you and your organization." According to the text of the letter.
In their letter, the U.S. senators stressed that "issuing arrest warrants to the leaders of the Zionist entity would not only be unjustified, but would expose your ICC to hypocrisy and double standards. "Your office has not issued arrest warrants against Iran's Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, or any other Iranian official, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad or any other Syrian official."
In their letter, they revealed that they would seek severe sanctions on the ICC president and members, saying: "The United States will not tolerate politicized attacks by the ICC against our allies. Target Israel and we will target you. If you take the actions outlined in the report, we will end all U.S. support for the ICC, impose sanctions on your staff and colleagues, and bar you and your family from entering the United States."
The U.S. senators who signed the letter concluded by saying, "You have been warned."
