SANAA, Jan. 24 (Saba) - A meeting chaired by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance Dr. Hussein Makbouli was held on Wednesday in Sana'a for the Economic Committee in charge of studying the economic axis in the national vision of building the modern Yemeni state and the technical team emanating from the committee.

 The meeting was attended by Ministers of Planning and International Cooperation Abdulaziz Al-Kummim and Legal Affairs Dr. Abdulrahman Al-Mokhtar, Industry and Trade Abdul Wahab Al-Durrah, Endowments and Guidance Najib Al-Ajji, Agriculture and Irrigation Engineer Abdulmalek Al-Thawr and Fisheries Mohammed Al-Zubairi.

It was devoted to discuss the observations of the technical team assigned by the committee to study the economic aspect and make observations thereon.


At the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Finance pointed to the importance of the economic axis in the vision of building the state as linked to all other axes.

He stressed the need for strategic planning and focus on investment projects in promising sectors that do not depend on oil and mineral wealth through investment in human cadres and development and rehabilitation to lead the process of development and achieve the overall economic renaissance.

Dr. Makbouli pointed to the importance of finding the infrastructure capable of keeping pace with population growth and attention to sectors related to the lives of people such as the agricultural sector, electricity sectors, transport, manufacturing industries and other promising sectors in partnership with the private sector.

He stressed the need to enrich the economic axis and absorb all the observations that would contribute to the emergence of a national vision to establish a modern Yemeni state for all Yemenis, which enables them to overcome the challenges and achieve comprehensive and sustainable economic development.

The committee reviewed the report submitted to it by the technical team, which included enriching the economic aspect in the national vision, in addition to a set of observations and proposals that contribute to support the vision and comprehensiveness to achieve an integrated economic vision.

At the end of its meeting, the committee endorsed the recommendations presented to it and approved mandate of the technical team to reformulate them. It also approved the mandate of the Ministry of Planning and International Cooperation to establish the necessary workshops to prepare the executive plans and follow up the various ministries to present their executive plans for the current year.
