SANA'A, Aug. 11 (Saba) - The Cabinet held on Monday an extraordinary meeting to address the security situation in the country, especially the criminal act led to killing 14 soldiers in Hadramout governorate.

During the meeting chaired by Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Telecommunications and Information Technology Ahmed Bindaghr, the Cabinet expressed condolences and sympathy for the families of the martyr soldiers, as well as its strong condemnation of the terrorist heinous crime.

On Friday, al-Qaeda militants kidnapped and killed 14 soldiers near Shibam city of Hadramout, while on their way from Sayoun city towards the Capital Sana'a on leave.

The Cabinet stressed that all the government's military and security agencies are determined to track down all terrorists, urging the security agencies to redouble their efforts to hunt down those, who are involved in the Hadramout terrorist crime and capture them alive or dead.

The Interior Minister and the Heads of National and Political Security Agencies presented a preliminary report about the terrorist crime and measures carried out to track down the perpetrators, and the initial results of investigations.

The Cabinet reiterated the government's absolute support for actions taken to crack down on al-Qaeda militants, stressing that it will provide whatever needed to enable the military and security agencies to carry out their duties to promote security and stability.

Moreover, it instructed the Supreme Security Committee to prepare a comprehensive study on the financial, human and logistical needs that are required to achieve security and stability in all regions of the country, without exception within two weeks. It also urged the Parliament to accelerate procedures to pass a counterterrorism bill.

It directed the Local Administration Minister to order governors to give comprehensive reports on the security situation in all the villages, districts and cities of each governorate, and the proposals to enhance security in there.

Concerning the situation in Amran governorate, the Cabinet reiterated calls for Houthi group to fulfill its commitments to full withdrawal from the governorate and handover all State buildings and offices.
