Mahwit - Saba:
The Central Emergency Developmental Interventions Unit, in coordination with the local authority in Melhan District, Al Mahwit Governorate, launched on Saturday the distribution of a quantity of cement to support community initiative projects in the district, as part of the program backing community projects.
During the inauguration, Eng. Mokhtar Al-Turki, the unit’s representative in the governorate, explained that this support comes in implementation of the directives of the Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Local Administration and Rural Development, and the unit’s Executive Director, to enhance the community’s role in adopting and implementing developmental projects, as well as improving infrastructure and services.
He noted that the distribution of this cement quantity will contribute to implementing priority service and development projects for residents, including road construction , maintenance, building and repairing water tanks, and construction work in public facilities. This will positively reflect on improving service levels and alleviating citizens' hardships.
For his part, Ghumdan Al-Azaki, Director of Melhan District, expressed gratitude to the leadership of the Ministry of Local Administration and Rural Development for its continuous support of community initiative projects through the Interventions Unit. He considered this step a model of integration between official and community efforts in serving local development.
