Sana’a – Saba:
Security and customs authorities, along with the administration of Sana’a International Airport, destroyed over 7,000 electronic cigarettes today, which had been seized over the past year.
The destruction was carried out in the presence of the assigned committee and representatives from various security and customs agencies. Airport Director Khaled Al-Shaif emphasized that the seizure and disposal of these products aim to protect public health, citing scientific evidence linking e-cigarettes to serious illnesses.
Al-Shaif noted that similar quantities had been destroyed prior to the Israeli aggression on Sana’a Airport, reaffirming the airport’s commitment to seizing such hazardous materials upon arrival, storing them securely, and disposing of them in coordination with a specialized security committee.
For his part, Nizar Al-Asimi, Director of the Passenger Customs Office at the airport, stated that a total of 7,090 e-cigarettes were destroyed today. These were confiscated from travelers arriving from multiple countries.
He added that the confiscation was the result of coordinated efforts between security and customs authorities, in line with directives from the Cabinet, the Ministry of Health, and the Customs Authority to prevent the entry of these substances into Yemen.
