Berlin - Saba:
German police in Berlin used violence against a peaceful demonstration in support of Palestine, arresting a large number of participants.
According to the Anadolu Agency, hundreds of supporters of the Palestinian cause gathered on Saturday on Kurfürstendamm, near Breitscheid Square, to protest the genocide being committed by Israel and to draw attention to the Israeli starvation policy in Gaza.
The demonstrators chanted anti-Israel slogans and banged empty food containers, referring to the hunger crisis caused by Israel's blocking of humanitarian aid into Gaza.
Shortly after the protest began, police asked the protesters to disperse and leave the area, but the protesters continued chanting, and a number of them sat on the ground.
At the same time, a demonstration in solidarity with Palestine took place in Wittenberg Square in Berlin.
The protesters took refuge. Protesters also banged empty pots to draw attention to the hunger crisis in Gaza.
The protesters held up signs reading "Stop the genocide in Gaza," "Send food to Gaza now," and "Stop hunger in Gaza, bring in bread."
They also held up signs bearing slogans such as "Terrorist Israel," "Child killer Israel," and "Freedom for Gaza."
Police arrested at least four protesters during this demonstration.
Earlier on Saturday, Palestinian medical sources announced that the death toll from starvation among those awaiting aid had reached "1,422 martyrs and more than 10,000 wounded" since May 27.
Since October 7, 2023, the Israeli entity, with US support, has been waging a genocidal war in Gaza, including killing, starvation, destruction, and forced displacement, ignoring all international appeals and orders from the International Court of Justice to halt it.
