Moscow - Saba:
Ukrainian drone attack caused a fire at an oil depot in Sochi, the city in southwestern Russia that hosted the 2014 Winter Olympics, Russian local authorities announced on Sunday.
"Sochi was subjected to a drone attack carried out by the Kyiv regime last night," Krasnodar Regional Governor Veniamin Kondratyev said on Telegram.
He added that drone debris hit "an oil storage tank, which led to a fire."
According to Kondratyev, 127 firefighters worked overnight to extinguish the fire.
Air traffic at Sochi Airport was suspended but resumed shortly thereafter, according to the Russian Federal Air Transport Agency.
Kyiv's airstrikes on Sochi, located about 400 kilometers from the border with Ukraine, are relatively rare compared to other Russian cities.
But Ukrainian drone attacks killed two people in the city last month, according to local authorities.
