New York – Saba:
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) warned that airdropping aid "can actually be dangerous for civilians, particularly in the context of Gaza."
Juliette Touma, UNRWA’s Director of Communications, stated in remarks published on the platform "X" on Saturday: "There is a much simpler way—allowing trucks through the crossings to deliver aid to the two million people currently starving."
She emphasized that "UNRWA teams are ready to bring aid into Gaza and distribute it safely and with dignity to those most in need."
Since October 7, 2023, the Israeli enemy, with U.S. support, has been committing genocide in Gaza, including killing, starvation, destruction, and forced displacement, while ignoring international appeals and orders from the International Court of Justice to halt its actions.
Palestinians in the Gaza Strip are facing an unprecedented wave of hunger since the Israeli enemy closed the crossings in early March and imposed severe restrictions on the entry of food, relief supplies, fuel, and medicine.
