Sana'a - SABA:
The Disability Care and Rehabilitation Fund today transferred the first installment of educational aid for the 2024-2025 academic year, along with the fourth and final installment for 2023-2024, to students with disabilities enrolled across all educational levels (schools, vocational/technical institutes, universities, and postgraduate studies).
Dr. Ali Mughalli, the Fund's Executive Director, told SABA that the total transferred amount of 210,796,000 Yemeni riyals will benefit 2,304 male and female students with disabilities in several governorates. This aligns with the Fund's commitment to supporting education and rehabilitation for this group, enabling their access to all educational stages, particularly vocational and university education.
He noted that the Fund continues efforts to enhance educational and rehabilitation opportunities for persons with disabilities as a key pathway to social inclusion and economic empowerment, despite challenges like declining revenues due to ongoing aggression and siege.
Salim Al-Abyad, the Fund's Financial Director, clarified that the transfers include the first installment for the current academic year and cover remaining obligations from the previous year's fourth installment. He confirmed ongoing work to complete disbursement of remaining installments for the new academic year soon.
The disbursement also included entitlements for students with disabilities in occupied areas, transferred via foreign currency exchange, reflecting the Fund's commitment to delivering rights to all beneficiaries without discrimination.
