Real Madrid officially announced on Wednesday the departure of defender Lucas Vázquez from its first football team after 10 seasons with the club.
In a statement posted on its official X account, the club expressed its "deepest gratitude to Lucas Vázquez, one of its greatest legends, following a career filled with success."
The club revealed that a special tribute ceremony will be held for the player on Thursday at Real Madrid’s sports city, attended by club president Florentino Pérez.
Vázquez joined Real Madrid in 2007 at the age of 16, progressing through all youth levels from the U-17 team to Castilla (reserve team), after a one-season loan to Espanyol.
He made his first-team debut in September 2015 and went on to play 402 matches over 10 seasons, contributing to 23 titles, including:
- 5 UEFA Champions League trophies
- 5 FIFA Club World Cups
- 4 UEFA Super Cups
- 4 La Liga titles
- 1 Copa del Rey
- 4 Spanish Super Cups
